About the maker
For years Dario Serrentino has been selling off his grapes to the likes of Frank Cornelissen and Lamoresca, until 2014 when he decided he would try his hand in the cellar.
The heat of the Sicilian summer is balance nicely for Mortellito with the prominence of limestone in the soils. Allowing the wines to retain a freshness that would otherwise disappear. In the vineyard Dario farms organically and in the cellar no additives, temperature controlled ferments or nasties are introduced. He's insistent on letting the natural wines speak to his vineyard. Less about his winemaking skills and more about the place.See the Mortellito collection here
