About the maker
Luca Bevilacqua is a part of blossoming new generation of Abruzzo young winemakers, alongside the likes of Lammida, Marina Palusci, Rabasco, taking a somewhat different approach to the conventional bounds of winemaking in the area.
A young sommelier who has turned his hand to the production of natural and genuine wines, Luca Bevilacqua called upon a lifetime of wine knowledge to conceive of the LAB project (LAB being the initials of his 3 sons). Luca farms pristine, chemical-free vineyards inherited from his father and located in the lower valley of the Sangro river in the province of Chieti in Abruzzo. There he grows predominantly Montepulciano, Passerina and Trebbiano, none of which have ever been sprayed. Employing techniques such as wild ferments and carbonic maceration that predate the homogenous wine so prevalent in Italy today, he pursues a terroir driven approach in order for his wine to express the most delicious flavour that it is capable of.See the Luca Bevilacqua collection here
