2019 Harkham 'Shibuya Meltdown' Semillon

Hunter Valley, New South Wales

In 2018 Richie Harkham went on a trip with some trade friends (think Morgan McGlone, Andrew Guard, Dan Hong) and has such a blast they decided to make a wine about it. Hand harvested, the wine is a blend of Richie's best two barrels off Aziza's Semillon. No sulphur, no fining, no filtering. Reeling with marzipan, lemon and grapefruit pith. Ripe and generous but a nice persistent acid line.

About the maker

One of the pioneering families of Israel’s renowned wine region, Zichron Yackov, the Harkham family took their talent to the Hunter Valley where they are making beautiful, terroir driven wines.

A family run and owned business, Harkham wines focus on producing small batches with extremely high quality. Their own vineyard is farmed using organic methods and we source fruit from a couple of other vineyard partners who we work closely with to ensure they meet such standards. In the cellar, it's all about minimal intervention and maximum flavour. The family are not only all for giving back to the earth, but giving back to those less fortunate. Son and winemaker Richie, is constantly funding and working on numerous charitable initiatives both locally and abroad.
