2019 Entropy Balnarring Wines Pinot Noir

Mornington Peninsula, Victoria

Pretty with bright light red fruit with green notes and really aromatic. From the maker: The grapes were de stemmed as whole berries into tank, left alone for a month and then pressed. Fermentation was slow and the wine did not finish fermenting until August. The wine was then racked to barrel for ageing. The wine is fresh and deep with that Mornington Peninsula brightness.

About the maker

A man of many talents Ryan Ponsford, also a creative photographer, has set off on a path of winemaking in the Gippsland and he wants more people in in Australia to understand that wine should be about place not maker nor variety.

Surrounded by talented winemakers like William Downie and Patrick Sullivan, alongside a really unique landscape, after only a few years, Ryan is already producing a set of captivating wines. Do not expect your Barossa Shiraz or Mornington Pinot Noir, but rather varieties that come from a certain place. Found in West Gippsland, with very few others, a unique combination of elevation, climate and soil gives way to wines that aren't expected.
