2019 Chateau Acid Bianco Vermentino

The acid is back. In it's normal skinsy form, 100% biodynamic Vermentino with 2 weeks on skins and 10 months in terracotta untopped. Think oranges, peaches and floral aromas. It's not as fruit forward as previous release, back to a more savoury style, but it still slaps. Super low yielding year (like 2020 has been) with only 40 dozen made there isn't a lot to go around. One per person pretty please.

About the maker

Charlie O’Brien and Simon Jones decided one day to set out and create a fun label that spoke to people instantly, choosing a name that played on the mid 80s and early 90s underground cultural movement.

Sourcing organic and biodynamic grapes from the Central Ranges in New South Wales, Chateau Acid is a partnership that captures the passion of two good mates. Charlie also produces some pretty cool music, DJs regularly in Sydney and casually runs a non-for-profit called Heaps Decent that engages young people through music. What started as a 650 bottle first vintage, is now growing and improving with the 2018 release of the bianco, rosé and red.
