2018 Tim Ward I'll Fly Away Cinsault Pet-Nat

From Suzi & Wayne’s Vineyard in Vine Vale the Cinsault was hand picked, whole bunch pressed and goes through a wild and slow fermentation before being bottled before end of primary ferment. The wine spends 18 months full lees and is hand disgorged ‘a la volée’. Floral notes with pears and a full mouth upon drinking.

About the maker

After more than a decade of working casually in wine retail, with attempts at many other careers: from Rock singer to United Nations Development Programme Officer, Tim Ward decided it was time to throw everything he had at learning about wine.

With experience in large scale wineries, from Priorat in Spain to Martinborough in New Zealand, it was his visit to Domaine La Grange Tiphaine in the Loire Valley that sparked his interest in making wine in another fashion. Small scale, sensitive, refreshing, less about fruit more about soil, less about oak more about finesse, less industrial product more artisan expression of grape and place. In 2014 Tim released his first wine.
