About the maker
Roberto is another young and professionally trained winemaker who, like others in Chile, decided to make a permanent move down south to make exciting wines from Chile’s endemic varietals and from incredibly old rootstock.
Aside from running his own vineyards in Bio Bio, Roberto works with a handful of small growers in Itata, working closely with them in the transition to organic agriculture and paying them high prices which allow them to keep growing. The key to his success has been in producing wine made from 200-year-grapes located at the southern end of the Bio Bio riverbank. País vines are an integral part of history, culture, tradition and character of Chilean terroir.See the Roberto Henriquez collection here
