An epic collaboration between Ngeringa and Sydney based chef Brendan Cato (Carto). The unique terrain of Mount Barker, 420m altitude and soil of schist and sandy loam, leads to a pretty unique wine. With 10 months in old French Oak barrels, only racked once for natural filtration, nothing else was applied to the wine. From the crew: The palate is alive with red berries & blood plum fruit, spice and liquorice. Approachable tannins and perfect to drink now.

About the maker

Ngarto is a little collaboration between Ngeringa and Carto using some unique vineyard sites in the Mount Lofty Ranges just outside of Adelaide.

Erinn and Janet Klein, are both winemakers behind the lovely Ngeringa located in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. Their farm has been certified biodynamic for over 20 years and there they create oils, wines and vegetables. They have an immense passion for working with in tandem with the land and it's evident in the vitality, depth and delicate nature of their wines. Carto is a little project by Sydney-based chef Brendan Cato. Sourcing grapes from around New South Wales for his own organic and lively wines, he also travels to Ngeringa to assist with their vintage and together made this collaborative wine Ngarto.
