About the maker
Beginning his solo career in 1998, Alfredo Maestro produced wines according to the rules of the area and techniques accepted by majority of Spanish producers until one day he decided to begin making wines that spoke of the land of which they came.
After several warm seasons, the rain finally came to Alfredo in 2018. A cool vintage resulted in bumper crops and freshness to all the wines. With his vineyards in the Ribera del Duero DO, Alfredo Maestro Tejero prefers to label his wines under the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León denomination instead. Alfredo sources from different vineyards and some vines planted between over 100 years ago. The vineyards are often at different altitudes (770-1000 metres), containing different soils types (limestones, clay, etc.) and orientations which gives way for the ability to create really unique but terroir driven wines.See the Maestro Tejero collection here
