About the maker
After starting one of the first natural wine bars in New York, Laurent tends organically to several small plots of Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay and Pineau d’Aunis in Pouillé. His wines are both wildly addictive and capture a refreshing, casual approach.
Laurent is on a constant pursuit for wines that show off nature at its best, with an inherent deep understanding of each vintage, grape and individual site from which they originate. The wines are always fun, light hearted and a pleasure to drink, but also extremely considered and well executed. His first vintage was in 2012 and since then he has sold almost all his wine to his restaurant friends in New York (In particular Wildair, Contra, Four Horsemen). He has since doubled his vineyard holdings (now 6ha) yet still works the vines by hand all by himself.See the Laurent Saillard collection here
