About the maker
Created back in 2007 by Christophe Bouvet the Normandy farm is owned by his grandparents and has been in the family for over 150 years. Located in one of the most northern points in Normandy, it is perfect for the production of high quality cidre.
Relatively untouched since the 1960s, Christophe decided it was time to revitalise the farm to make high quality cider and grow other produce. He now grows various fruits, elderflower, hazelnuts and of course apples. All the orchards are certified organic and he has around 30 varieties of apples. The apples are collected by hand in Autumn and left outside in tarps to ripen for 1-2 weeks. There is very little filtering (with a cardboard plate) and the ciders are full of floral, honey essence, nectar and hints of sea spray. Seriously delicious.See the La Ferme du Vastel collection here
