About the maker
A stone's throw away from Slovenia and overlooking the sea is the town of Muggia where the Nicolini family vineyard continue their grandparents' traditional way of winemaking.
A completely family run winery and only 6000 bottles made each vintage, the Nicolini family manage and make wine according to old traditions inherited from the grandparents. Their goal is to both cultivate only those grapes native to the area and produce wines that keep keep the taste and perfumes from these varietals alive, those that are already being forgotten. They produce their wines using as little intervention as possible, cultivating known grapes like Malvasia and Vitovska, but also those rare like Moscato Giallo Istriano, Piccola Nera and Borgogna Nera.See the Giorgio Nicolini collection here
