2018 Foradori 'Granato' Teroldego

Trentino, Italy

Named after another Mediterranean basin fruit, the pomegranate, known for its fruit intensity, charm and beauty, the Granato is Foradori's historic (1986 first batch) and special wine. Made from the local Teroldego grape, grown in flat, sunny and well-drained sandy, Dolomitic limestone soils. An exotic wine with crushed berry, blackberries, fine tannins and other beautiful ripe fruit. A very long and precise finish. Bold, dry and soft in acidity. Let this age for 4-5 years to wow you even more.

About the maker

Based in Mezzolombardo - a small commune in Northern Italy, Foradori is a highly renown Demeter (biodynamic) certified winery focused on traditional Trentino varieties.

Elisabetta Foradori is largely responsible for resurrecting Trentino’s much forgotten Teroldego grape from the brink of extinction, and producing some of Italy’s finest, most age-worthy wines. The Foradori Granato is consistently recognised as the international benchmark for Teroldego, and Elisabetta’s commitment to creating terroir-driven wines has made her a leading figure in biodynamics and Italy’s natural wine movement. These are artisanal wines in the true sense of the word. They are also scarce and highly sought after by collectors and wine lovers across the globe. As well as adorning the tables of the world’s most exclusive restaurants. These are truly unique and original wines of personality and purpose.
