About the maker
Based in the central Alsace village of Pfaffenheim, with a soil rich with various limestone and calcareous sandstones, Jean Ginglinger is a quiet, humble and passionate man who seeks to create wines that reflect the terroir of his very special vineyards.
He produces wines from the seven standard white grape varieties of Alsace including Sylvaner, Riesling, Muscat d’Alsace, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Gewurtztraminer as well as Pinot Noir. He also produces a fine Cremant d’Alsace using Auxerrois Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Jean prefers his a dryer style of wines than others in the area and also prefers to avoid any additional sulphur where possible and hence, only one third of his vineyards are classified as 'Grand Cru'.See the Jean Ginglinger collection here
