About the maker
Growing up between canvases and paint brushes in an artistic family, Bibi Graetz in 2000, had a simple idea in mind. Support and rely on native varieties and very old vineyards capable of producing healthy grapes.
Found in north-east Florence, Fiesole soils are primarily clay, marl and 'galestro'. Their farm stretches 4 hectares of old vines ranging from 50 to 80 years old. Old clones of Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo & Malvasia Nera allow the wines to express true Tuscan ‘terra’. In the field, the family practice spontaneous grassing, letting flowers and herbs go to enrich the bouquet of fragrances. The cellar is then treated as a place where the process of maturation of the fruit finds its natural conclusion, simply and without force: no concentration, no drain and low sulphur. The wines are sensitively made and over the years have become extremely popular because of the innate ability to showcase an incredibly pronounced Tuscan terroir.See the Bibi Graetz collection here
