With fruit sourced from the Malakoff Vineyard in the Grampians, 20% whole-bunch underwent carbonic maceration for 10 days, the rest were whole berries. 28 days on skins before being pressed off into 1 barrique and 1 puncheon, for malolactic ferment and left on lees for 3 years in barrel before bottling. Light, fresh and savoury pretty red fruits. A driving minerality and salinity that keeps the mouth salivating. Well done Daniel.

About the maker

When Daniel first conceived of his first winemaking project, he never foresaw that hospitalisation would put a dent in his plans. Nevertheless the wine is here to tell that story.

Daniel has been an esteemed wine merchant for many years under the company Vigorous Brothers and this is his first hand at making wine. The intentions that Daniel had was to create a youthful and vibrant expression of Nebbiolo, however, shortly after he begun he was sent to hospital with meningitis. After awaking and returning to work (eventually), this young, fresh Nebb had now turned more serious and structured. It's got elegance but still retains great freshness.
