If you're fan of Denavolo and La Stoppa, then you'll love Tenuta Croci. Massimiliano is focused on making the region's historic secondary fermentation, in bottle, sparkling wines. This mouth salivating blend is made up off Ortugo, Malvasia di Candia (both local varieties), Sauvignon Blanc and Marsanne. The aromas are fun and typical of Malvasia di Candia, whilst on the palate it has exotic fruits, dried apricots and mandarin. Pair this with spicy or rich food to balance both.

About the maker

Massimiliano Croci has been flying quietly under Italy's natural wine scene and his focus is primarily on traditional bottle re-fermented wines of his area.

Massimiliano looks after about 16 hectares across the estate with half dedicated to growing those local varietals. His poly-cultural farm maintains a mix of cows, grains and of course vines. Taking inspiration from his grandfather, he decided in 1999 to buck the trend of the 'clean' wave (heavy filteration and fining) that had been moving through the region and decided he would bottle with sugars to create bottle re-fermentation. 'Without filtration and charmat, you taste the land'.
