About the maker
Sébastien Riffault makes Sancerre like no other and rightly so his wine has gathered cult status momentum around the world.
Most of the wines coming out of Sancerre are remarkably delicious, however, the vineyards are often chemically induced and formulated meticulously before arriving in the cellar. Sébastien's wines break this mould. They are complex, mature and pure in taste. Having begun working with his father in 2000, he took the bold decision of converting the family vineyards into biodynamic viticulture, with flowers plants and grasses growing between the vines. He plows between the vines with horses and uses no machinery. His wines are atypical due to the fact he picks late so the grapes are affected by botrytis, vinified dry and long élevage with zero additions.See the Sébastien Riffault collection here
