About the maker
After moving to Beaujolais in 2009, Julie Balagny's aromatic wines are often rivalling some of the finest from Burgundy. Both the terroir and her winemaking decisions make for a very unique set of wines.
Julie purchased her own vines in 2015 which had been planted in 1913. Everything on the property is done by hand and in the cellar there is no punching down, no pumping over and nothing introduced. The soils, being rich in granite and quartz, produce an exceptional minerality. People who taste her wines, can often have trouble describing the sensations. Think big, bold fruits, never-ending tension and intense minerality.See the Julie Balagny collection here
