2016 Jacques Fevrier Le Raisin à Plume 'A Bout' Abouriou

Loire Valley, France

We only have three bottles of this beautiful wine as the Abouriou is a rare grape. Whole bunch maceration for 15 days before being transferred to old wooden barrels where it matured for 8 months. It was bottled without filtering and without the addition of any sulphites. The wine shows forest floor, a full mouth, black cherries, liquorice and fine tannins. Surprisingly only 11.5% alcohol level.

2016 Jacques Fevrier Le Raisin à Plume 'A Bout' Abouriou
About the maker

After working as a sommelier in both France and Australia, then bumping into our very own Anton Von Klopper and Tom Schobbrook, decided it was his time to start making natural wine

Jacque and his partner Julie own a number of vineyards in the area comprising a total of 6 hectares with one overlooking the Loire River. The rock types are primarily schist and gneiss. Thanks to Living Wines for introducing us to these wines. Jacque is regarded by Sue and Roger as producing consistently delicious wines, characterised by tension and minerality. One to watch out of the Loire.
