About the maker
After years of working as a winemaker for cooperatives, Marc Castan, inspired to forge his own path, recovered old vines planted by his grandfather in the seaside town of La Palme.
It's here both the soils, full with pebbles and limestone, and the nearby sea, has an enormous influence on the wines made. The grapes he grows like Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Macabeu, and others, all typical for the region. Marc has spent many of hours of back-breaking labour to ensure the vineyards are now healthy, including introducing cows to eat weeds and fertilise the soil in the winter months.See the Domaine Mămărutá collection here
