2015 Dominique Andiran Chut!

Montreal-du-Gers, France

A very very good Rosé that reads more like an orange. Lovely minerality, cloudy white with a deep golden hue. The grape varietal is Sauvignon Rose, believed to be a mutation of Sauvignon Blanc that may have occured hundreds of years ago in the Loire Valley. A pleasant drink with a lot going on. Think herbs, flower petals, burnt honeycomb and a lovely streak of minerality.

French Rosé Natural Organic Wine Loire Valley
About the maker

Once a ski and sailing instructor, Dominique Andiran started small in 1988 by helping his uncle out and now organically managing 20,000 hectares for producing natural wines.

In accordance with French practice, Dominique either owns or rents several plots of vines spread across many kilometres in the area of the Gers départment in South-West France around the village of Montreal-du-Gers. There he has plots of Chardonnay, Colombard, Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Muscadelle, Ugni Blanc, Sauvignon Rose, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Tannat. Often grown in limestone soils his wines are always wonderfully reflective of the terroir, in this instance, full of vibrancy and minerality.
