Brash Higgins

After many years on the road between Paris, Portland, Chicago and New York, Brad Hickley's wines are so often a testament to his depth of experience and worldliness.

On a trip to the McLaren Vale in 2007, Brad met Nicole Thorpe whom had been working to provide the local vineyards with much needed water during the extended drought. Nicole had a small parcel herself, planted in 1997 to Shiraz and Cab Sav, but they were keen to look at other varietals out there that would cope better with the dry conditions. Nowdays, inspired by a trip to Sicily, the have grafted and harvest more obscure varietals like Nero D'Avola, Zibbibo and Crystal. Through Brash Higgins they are looking to represent the essence of McLaren Vale’s sun and soil, the elusive characters of the fruit, and the whims of their own restless muse.
