About the maker
Mas Coutelou is located in Puimisson, a commune in the Languedoc and a winemaking village for over 200 years. Jean Francois's father first planted vines back in 1966 and was one of the pioneers of organic viticulture in the region.
The wines are complete with brightness, freshness and immense life in a region that is known to show wines prone to dullness. Puimisson has been a winemaking village for over 200 years and most of it's soils are a mix of red clays and limestone. 'There does not exist one single recipe, the making of the wine is adapted to the grape variety and to the vintage (short or long maceration, destemming or whole bunch, punching the cap or pumping over) many, varied methods can be used according to inspiration and the grapes themselves.'See the Mas Coutelou collection here
