About the maker
Charlotte Hardy has been making wine for over two decades, after dropping her vet nurse job, but it's only since 2015 that she launched her own range that in 2021 taken out the Young Gun wine award.
Having worked for a variety of reputable houses across New Zealand, Napa Valley and Australia, it's only in 2017 after the arrival of her daughter that Charlotte decided to quit her job at Hardy's wines and focus completely on her own label. Starting by making only Semillon and Shiraz from one vineyard, Charlotte always wanted to work with vineyards where you can see the place in the wine. “I don’t really make any stylistic choices for the wine, rather the grapes do. I now believe to decide on a style before the grapes are even in the winery is just fucking with the grapes to force them to be something.”See the Charlotte Dalton collection here
