About the maker
Sigurd Wines is based around Daniel Graham's great grandfather who spawned from Norway. With a double degree in Wine and Viticulture, Daniel spent some years making wines in the Barossa before starting a label of his own.
The Matassa brand has built an extremely reputable name amongst the natural winemaking community and rightly so. The wines have changed significantly over the years following an improvement in the health of the vineyard due to Tom's profound care for them. As a natural progression so too have things changed in the cellar. Domaine Matassa is distinguished not purely because of these beautifully maintained old Catalan varietals and vines, but also his sense of adventure and experimentation with the wines. A warning note, these wines are not your classical southern French wines, they are low yielding, excruciatingly terroir driven wines.See the Sigurd collection here
