2018 Jumpin Juice Riesling

Gippsland, Victoria

The fruit is harvested from 30+ year old vines that are dry grown on red volcanic soils. The grapes are whole bunches direct pressed to stainless tank and fermented. The wine is settled out over winter, gently racked and lightly filtered with minimal SO2 added. This wine is bright, crisp with light fruit hints and some light salinity. The palate is savoury and dry with subtle notes of exotic fruit and light acid.

Patrick grew up in regional Victoria, growing into both farming and winemaking. Both the fruit that he grows in the Gippsland area of Victoria and those that he sources are organic or biodynamic. Like other notorious winemakers in this space, Patrick believes the fruit should be expressed freely in a wine and how the grapes are treated, is the core of superb tasting wine. He certainly walks the talk.
